The World Nomad Games are an international sport competition dedicated to traditional ethnic Central Asian Sports. The first three editions were held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, before the 2022 edition was held in Iznik, Turkey. The most recent edition was held in Astana, Kazakhstan. In 2026, the World Nomad Games will return to Kyrgyzstan.
Kazakhstan 2024The 5th edition of the games was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, 2024. More than 2500 athletes from 89 countries took part in the games, in sports varying from tug of war, to horseback wrestling, to kokpar (a traditional central asian game).

At the World Nomad Games 2024 in Kazakhstan, Team Great Britain competed in Arkan Tartys (tug of war), Mangala, and Oware.
Kyrgyzstan 2026In 2026, the VI World Nomad Games will be hosted in Kyrgyzstan. The opening ceremony will take place in Bishkek on August 31, and the closing ceremony will be held on the shore of Issyk-Kul on September 6. Participants and guests from over 89 countries are expected to attend as sports, culture, and science collide.
